About Me

Andy, circa 2026

The world is a beautiful place, full of wonders and incomprehensible magic. We humans, however, are unable to accept the wondrous nature of the world, and we don't believe in magic. Thus, we try to impose order and logic on everything around us. This very human tendency can lead to misunderstandings, emotional breakdowns, and tummy troubles. I like to write about the people with the tummy troubles more than the magic.

The Method To My Madness

My name is Andy Bennett. I'm a father of 4 beautiful chaos gremlins. I am an absurdist storyteller, a humorous essayist, and a narrative fiction and non-fiction writer. My writing lives like a troll beneath the bridge between thoughtful reflection on the world around us, and the total absurdity of the people (including myself) in it. I write personal essays, humorous articles, and fiction and non-fiction pieces encompassing parenting, identity, culture, and the sometimes illogical way people cope with their lives. I believe that there are incredible stories to be found when you examine the often mundane nature of life through an unexpected lens. Conversely, I also believe there are amazing stories to be told by approaching absurd and nonsensical scenarios through the perspective of mundane human understanding.
